VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE
Award winner and experienced architect with a demonstrated history of working in various architectural firms. Professional-practical knowledge of Revit (BIM, cost estimation, etc.). Great experience in AutoCAD, Dynamo, Lumion, and Adobe Tools. Great understanding of project management, and national and provincial building codes. Research on sustainable and resilient architecture and urban design, forms of thresholds in both architecture and urban development to generate more interactive spaces. Aerial and landscape photography for developing architectural concepts and urban analysis.
Hamid graduated with a bachelor's in Architectural Engineering from IAU in June 2016. After his graduation, he collected some experience in design and project management. He also participated in some competitions around the world. After two years of working in different firms, he found the need in developing his academic background. He began the Post-Professional Master in Urban Design and Housing in 2018 at McGill University. Working, learning, and designing in different firms let Hamid learns about different aspects of architecture. "Architecture can enrich our perspective of seeing different things, help us to improve our lifestyle, and teach us the way of living. To him, architecture is a vast field of knowledge; it develops with each knowledge that we are developing in our society. Architecture is not just a field, it is also a lifestyle!
Hamid had worked and studied sustainable architecture; the fundamental knowledge that all the architects should develop in their skills. He also worked on vernacular architecture, developing efficient and low-cost housing for low-income families and working-class groups, new developments in new cities, and finally, human psychology and behavior in different spaces. Many urban scale projects and design theories helped him to find a better way of connecting private spaces to public areas and how this connection can appear in an efficient way. The recent work that he had done at McGill University was the study of thresholds in different aspects. Physiology, behaviorology, and phenomenology of thresholds in different cultures specifically in Montreal were the major focus of his study. He thinks of giving perspective to different people and increasing the knowledge of outsiders on the importance of architecture. "Architects are the people who shape society, urban form, identity, culture, and creativity, but the roles of architects have been decreased through history and now many architects are following the developers for what they want. The main question here is do people tell doctors that what would be better for them?"
Hamid is an award-winning, team player, easy-going, and fast adaptable. He is always energetic that increases the efficiency of the team. He always wanted to improve his abilities and learn new developing ideas in architecture; this eagerness in learning helps him to learn new methods and combine them with different fields. The other hobbies that Hamid has besides architecture are sculpture, digital painting, photography, and traveling. Watchmaking and perfume are the other interest that is outside of architecture.
The following projects will demonstrate Hamid's passion for architecture and design. His intention is to create a comfortable and more exciting lifestyle for individuals to let them live more efficiently with less concern. This is not only the intention but also the legacy and it is the reason that he chose architecture. "Life is full of impossibility" is what Hamid had experienced in his life!
